Have your current eVisa, new offer, job description and employer details ready. Explain changes of duties or location as well as changes of employer.
A common question
Does a Job Change extend my visa?
No. INZ states that changing conditions does not change the visa expiry date. Plan separately for any expiry deadline.
Prepare your application file
- Current permission: eVisa, expiry and all employer, job and location restrictions.
- Proposed change: new agreement, duties, pay, hours, location and the new employer’s accreditation details where relevant.
- Timing: notice period, proposed start and current visa expiry. Separate the job-change question from any need for a further visa.
A point worth checking early
Changing only the work location or duties may still affect your visa. Check the permission needed before starting the new arrangement, even with the same employer.
